Orange and date salad with rosewater

Ingredients

4 large juicy oranges8-12 dates, preferably Medjool, stoned and broken up roughlygenerous sprinkling of rosewater (about 2-3 tbsp)handful of small fresh mint leavesdusting of icing sugar½ tsp ground cinnamonsmall handful dried rose petals (optional)

Method

1. With a sharp knife, cut the rind off each orange, leaving no bitter yellow pith. Slice each orange into rounds, discard any seeds and arrange on a plate.2. Scatter the dates over the orange, then sprinkle the rosewater on top. Scatter with mint leaves, then dust with icing sugar and cinnamon. Finish with a few rose petals and serve.
