Festive Fudge Blossoms
Prep and Bake Time: 30 minutes
Yield: Makes 4 dozen cookies
Ingredients:
1/4cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1box (about 18 ounces) chocolate fudge cake mix
1egg, lightly beaten
2tablespoons water
3/4to 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
48chocolate star candies
Preparation:
1.Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut butter into cake mix in large bowl until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg and water until well blended.2.Shape dough into 1/2-inch balls; roll in walnuts, pressing nuts gently into dough. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.3.Bake cookies 12 minutes or until puffed and nearly set. Place chocolate star in center of each cookie; bake 1 minute. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
