Chocolate Waffles
Chocolate Waffles
Yield: Makes about 6 waffles
Ingredients:
2cups all-purpose flour
1/4cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2tablespoons sugar
1tablespoon baking powder
1/2teaspoon salt
2cups milk
2eggs, beaten
1/4cup vegetable oil
1teaspoon vanilla
Raspberry Syrup (recipe follows)
Preparation:
1.Preheat waffle iron; grease lightly.2.Sift flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder and salt into large bowl. Combine milk, eggs, oil and vanilla in small bowl. Stir liquid ingredients into dry ingredients until moistened.3.For each waffle, pour about 3/4 cup batter into waffle iron. Close lid and bake until steaming stops.* Serve with Raspberry Syrup.*Check the manufacturer' s directions for recommended amount of batter and baking time.
Raspberry Syrup
Yield: Makes about 1-1/3 cups
Ingredients:
1cup water
1cup sugar
1package (10 ounces) frozen raspberries in syrup
Preparation:
1.Combine water and sugar in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar has dissolved. Continue cooking until mixture thickens slightly, about 10 minutes.2.Stir in frozen raspberries; cook, stirring, until berries are thawed. Bring to a boil; continue cooking until syrup thickens slightly, about 5 to 10 minutes. Serve warm.
