Baked Apricot Brie
Baked Apricot Brie
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Yield: Makes 6 servings
Ingredients:
1round (8 ounces) Brie cheese
1/3cup apricot preserves
2tablespoons sliced almonds
Cracked pepper or other assorted crackers
Preparation:
1.Preheat oven to 400°F. Place cheese in small baking pan. Spread top of cheese with preserves; sprinkle with almonds.2.Bake about 10 to 12 minutes or until cheese begins to melt and lose its shape. Serve hot with crackers. Refrigerate leftovers; reheat before serving.
Cook' s Notes:
Brie is a soft-ripened, unpressed cheese made from cow' s milk. It has a distinctive round shape, edible white rind and creamy yellow interior. Avoid Brie that has a chalky center (it is underripe) or a strong ammonia odor (it is overripe). The cheese should give slightly to pressure and have an evenly colored, barely moist rind.
